Общественная организация, состоявшая в основном из представителей протестантской евангелистской церкви. Основана в 1893 в г. Оберлине, шт. Огайо, в 1895 стала общенациональной. Активно участвовала в движении трезвенников [Temperance Movement], выступала за принятие Восемнадцатой поправки [Eighteenth Amendment] - "сухого закона" [Prohibition], занимаясь лоббистской деятельностью на местном и общенациональном уровнях. После отмены поправки выступала за контроль над продажей алкогольных напитков, в 1948 была переименована в Американскую лигу трезвости [The Temperance League of America]
